Sexual Health Education, Testing, & Treatment
For a person considering an abortion, knowing whether or not you have a sexually-transmitted infection (STI), also called a sexually-transmitted disease (STD), is important to ensuring you do not risk further infection due to an abortion. If you are sexually-active, you should be tested for a sexually-transmitted infection regularly.
Hope Pregnancy Centers can provide free testing through a voucher to the Brazos County Health Department STI Clinic.
Hope’s mission is to serve women and men facing unplanned pregnancies, and we have tailored every aspect of our organization to meet the special needs of those in such situations. It is frequently asked if we provide other reproductive health services such as birth control or well-woman exams. These important services are outside of the scope of what Hope Pregnancy Centers exists to accomplish. To those with health insurance, all such services can be accessed from a medical provider of your choice. For those with no insurance, you may qualify for coverage under the Healthy Texas Women Program (see below for details).
If you do not have health insurance, you may qualify for coverage through the Healthy Texas Women. Coverage includes:
- Cervical Exams
- Pap Smears
- Breast Cancer Screenings
- STD Treatment
If you have coverage under the Healthy Texas Women Program, or under Medicaid/CHIP, you can find medical service providers who deliver these reproductive health services through this same website.
